Fall is one of the most spectacular times of the year if you are into color. Our fall colors make simple drives an experience to remember. The fish are biting this time of year too! Lake or pond, stream or brook, they are out there waiting. And, whatever the season, but especially in the fall, there is a reason to celebrate with a festival or a fair. Golf Courses: Cortland County has five great public golf courses offering fantastic golf at a price so low it will astound you! Courses are open as seasonal weather permits so call ahead in the Spring and Fall to be sure. Click here for detailed information about each course.

For nature lovers try the Lime Hollow Nature Center which offers all season nature programs and adventure.

1890 Union Fair dating back to 1893, this fair celebrates life in a small town when agriculture was most folks livlihood. Noon time parade is unique with no engines or motors permitted. held the first Saturday after Labor Day in Marathon. Call 607-849-3960 for more information.

Corn Festival This annual event in Cincinnatus features a quality crafters show, farmers market, huge parade, continuous live music, antique harvesting equipment, live demonstrations of corn grinding machines (get some free corn meal!), great food and hayrides. Always the third Saturday in September from 10am-4pm. Call 607-863-3828 for more information.

The Great Cortland Pumpkinfest an annual event at courthose park in Cortland, is a celebration of the harvest season. Features crafters, children's games, live entertainment, hayrides and a variety of food items. Museums: Cortland County abounds in history. There's a beautiful Victorian mansion in the "1890s House", the County's Historical Society at the "Suggett House", an old time country store you can still shop in at "Bob's Country Store Museum" and one of the most unique private museums you will ever see featuring military, antique trains, etc... they even have a battle tank in the backyard at the "Homeville Museum". You can even get a feel for that old country time music and history at the "Music Park Museum".
