Golf Courses: Cortland County has five great public golf courses offering fantastic golf at a price so low it will astound you! Courses are open as seasonal weather permits so call ahead in the Spring and Fall to be sure. Click here for detailed information about each course.
Summer Stock Theatre Cortland County is proud to have one of the longest running professional theatres in the state of New York. The Cortland Repertory Theatre offers live theatre in a spectacular setting right on Little York Lake from late June to early September.
Fishing and Boating: Along with kayaking and canoeing the thirty miles of our scenic Tioughnioga River you can also put your boat on Little York Lake or Whitney Point Lake which offers boat rentals (rowboats, canoes, paddleboats and sailboats). Some other streams and rivers like the Otselic river also can support kayaks and canoes.

Fishing: Try dropping a line in many of our public streams, lakes and rivers for bass, crappies and even some larger gamefish! Visit the world famous fishing line producer, Cortland Line Corp while you're here.
Museums: Cortland County abounds in history. There's a beautiful Victorian mansion in the "1890s House", the County's Historical Society at the "Suggett House", an old time country store you can still shop in at "Bob's Country Store Museum" and one of the most unique private museums you will ever see featuring military, antique trains, etc... they even have a battle tank in the backyard at the "Homeville Museum". Antiqueing: Visit one of our many fine antique shops to find just what you've been looking for! The village of Marathon and the city of Cortland boast the majority of them. But many others can be found just short drives in any direction in surrounding towns just over the border of Cortland County.
Hiking: Hike the famous Finger Lakes Trail which meanders right through our county. trails ar at all levels from challenging to less taxing for beginners. For nature lovers try the Lime Hollow Nature Center which offers all season nature programs and adventure.

Kayak/Canoeing: We have thirty miles of waterway (Tioughnioga River) along with many other streams and rivers to test your skills. many public launch areas are provided. Also try Little York Lake and Whitney Point Lake for calmer waters.
